1975  Bengt Ek left his homeland Sweden, moved  to the city of Luzern in  Switzerland, where he founded Ek International together with his father, the brand now  known as  Bengt Ek Design.  A factory was built and the first  product was produced.

Bengt Ek grew up in spending most his time in a factory in a small village in Sweden called Smålandstenar. Bengt’s professional design  career began at the early age of 15 creating and designing products for local companies.

In 1970 Bengt Ek was admitted to Konstfack Skolan (University College of Arts and Design)

Anticipating that the future of production lay in the Far East Bengt Ek started travelling to Asia  to find new ways of production still keeping quality the no. 1 priority.

Over the years the brand has  become synonymous with quality, innovativeness and service.

The company is constantly evolving and creating new trends. Bengt Ek Design distributes worldwide and is represented in many of the top design shops all over the globe. Products have been displayed at numerous  museums such as  the  MoMa in New York, Tokyo and San Francisco.
